the second time i have cried watching True Blood…. Ryan was outstanding… i felt heartbroken….

Ryan Fucking Kwanten is awesome. But really props everywhere, the writing for this episode was awesome. TB gets so much hate from bookies, but I think these writers do an excellent job, their characters are believable and heart-breaking.TB took a book that is mostly about its plots and turned it into a show that is about the characters.

What happened with Jason, Andy, and the fairies after they zapped Jason and Andy with their light? The next time we see Jason he wakes up naked in his living room.
And Andy wakes up naked in his. Jason actually talked to Andy about this, and neither can remember getting home, stripping naked, and falling asleep. The fairies must have transported them somehow. The fairies are shady! :)

Me too. But, I’m worried about Jason.
I know. I am so scared he’ll do something he will later regret. It wouldn’t be the first time for Jason.
I am mostly mad that they are seemingly abandoning his sexual abuse storyline. That was so important for his character development. And a very big thing for this show in dealing with the unspoken issue of males who are sexually abused, rather than being the abusers.
I understand that it is perhaps uncommon, but I think in general the discussion of the legitimate problems of men are severely neglected in our society (and especially on Tumblr).
I do not disparage the plight of women. I consider myself to be a feminist. I know we get many things thrown our way just because we are women. But we as women tend to ignore the fact that men also have to deal many societal expectations and their own kind of insecurities. Including the fact that there is only one prototype of what a man should be: tall, muscular, masculine, strong, and unemotional. They cannot speak about these problems because then they seem like they are complaining and crying over stupid things when they have so many advantages.
Speaking about the abuses that men like Jason suffer from so often get ignored in the claims of women against sexism and male privilege. And that I have a serious problem with.
Sorry for the extremely tangental commentary but it is vaguely relevant to this post.

I feel like Jason’s entire arc and series of disastrous choices over the years make complete sense after that reveal last night. I’m kind of amazed at how perfectly it all fits together, really. And I LOVE that Jason and his sex life are no longer the comedic relief of the show. There was always something a little sad and desperate beneath Jason’s horn dog behavior, and I’m so glad that they’re addressing it in an authentic way.
